Staying Awake in Faith

Have You Ever Thought About the Spiritual Battle?

I believe in God and attend church every Sunday to worship Him. 
However, lately, I’ve been struggling with how to navigate life in this world. 
It feels as though no one cares about God anymore, and few seem to question the true purpose of their existence. 
I continue to pray, asking God why He placed me here and what I should do for Him.

When I lived in Australia, I was deeply grateful every day and spent a lot of time in prayer. 
Many of my co-workers were believers, and during work, we often discussed how great our God is and how we should live according to His will. 
Of course, I encountered people with different perspectives—many identified as transgender, gay, or other gender identities.
At first, I found it difficult to understand, but instead of judging, I chose to pray for them. 
During that time, I also volunteered a lot, helping the homeless and those in need, believing that serving others was one of the ways to show God’s love.

When I returned to Korea, I realized something surprising. 
Despite the countless churches and the enormous Christian community here, it feels like conversations about faith are unwelcome. In a country filled with churches, why does it seem so difficult to openly speak about God?

Now, in 2024, our president has been impeached, and as we step into 2025, our country remains unstable. People are filled with anger. The economy is struggling, the value of money is declining, fuel prices are rising, and a severe flu is spreading. If I had to describe the situation in one word, I would say: tough.

There are so many things to pray for. And now, I want to ask you 

"what made you stop praying?" 
"What made you stop worshiping?" 
"How should we live in this world?"

Is one day enough? We spend six days surrounded by the world and unbelievers— Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday… all the way to Saturday. But then, we dedicate only one day to God and His people. Is that truly enough?

Let’s pray every day. Let’s stay awake in faith, not just on Sundays but throughout the week. 

May our hearts remain steadfast, seeking God in all we do.
